Ceramic Coatings

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that is applied by hand to the exterior of a vehicle. The coating chemically bonds with the vehicle’s factory paint, creating a layer of protection. A ceramic coating creates a permanent or semi-permanent bond with a vehicle’s paint, meaning that it does not wash away or break down and does not require repeated application every few months. This coating layer adds additional protection to your car’s exterior and helps keep it looking like-new with comparatively minimal maintenance. The coating achieves this result by making your vehicle more resilient and easier to clean.

Benefits of a ceramic coating include:

• Protection from UV Damage/Oxidization - If a vehicle is often exposed to the sun, its paint will begin to oxidize, resulting in dulled and faded paint. A layer of Ceramic Coating protects a vehicle’s paint from the sun’s ultraviolet rays, thereby reducing the amount of oxidization.
• Protection from Chemical Stains and Etching - By creating a chemically resistant surface, ceramic coatings can keep some contaminants from bonding to your vehicle’s paint. The result is that your vehicle will be more resistant to staining and etching, provided the contaminant is removed in a timely manner.
• Ease of Cleaning - Ceramic coatings create a hydrophobic layer. When a vehicle has a hydrophobic layer, water will bead on the surface and slide off more easily. This means that mud and grime will have a more difficult time bonding to your vehicle’s paint, and washing your car requires less effort.
• Enhanced Gloss - A good ceramic coating enhances the reflective properties of your car’s paint and clear coat, adding to the depth and clarity of your paint.

• ISM/Miyabi = this 2 layer coating system uses Miyabi Coating as the base layer and ISM Coating as the final, top layer. ISM/Miyabi coating will provide self-cleaning properties & ease of maintenance, protection from airborne elements sticking to the finish, and provide long-term gloss. We recommend the combination of Miyabi and ISM for the best looks and durability.
• Zipang/Miyabi/Zipang = this 3 layer, self healing system uses Kamikaze's professional coating, Zipang and layers it with Miyabi in between to give exceptional durability. With Zipang Coat, the chemistry provides even higher levels of gloss and brilliance than their ISM coatings, and it offers semi self-healing characteristics, meaning that the appearance of small swirls or imperfections in the coating surface will reduce when exposed to heat. We recommend Zipang Coat for its unmatched looks, hydrophobicity, ease of use, and semi self-healing technology. Zipang Coat also provides a darkening effect to the paint (blacks will be deeper black, reds will be richer, etc), and has the ability to lightly fill small imperfections in the paint.
