AVID WORKSHOP
The Avid Group vision is to provide the best quality car detailing and create a hub for the Christchurch and wider New Zealand motoring community. Our purpose built premises at 59 Harman Street was designed and built with that in mind. We wanted to provide the car community with not just a place for their car to be cared for, but a hub where likeminded enthusiasts can come along, catch up, chill out and just enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts.
Designed to be a fully functioning automotive detailing workshop, while still being sleek and modern, our workshop has been fitted out with high quality tools and equipment that allow us to execute high quality work to all of our customers vehicles. Our vision was to keep the fit out simple and practical while still adding pops of the Avid green to stay on brand, and add a special touch.

INDOOR WASH BAY
Whether it's in for a detail, ceramic coating or PPF, every vehicle goes through our wash bay first for a thorough wash. Our two indoor wash bays provide a well-lit area sheltered from the environment allowing our team to safely hand wash your vehicle. With an in ground grease interceptor and the use of PH neutral cleaning chemicals we are kind on the environment and kind on your vehicles.
CONTROL BOOTHS
Our quality control booths are designed to be sealed off from the rest of the workshop to provide a dust free work space. With specific and controllable lighting we can create the right environment for the job, and each room has a scissor lift to get your vehicle to a comfortable working height. These rooms are used for either high end paint correction and ceramic coatings or the application of Xpel Paint Protection Film.
DETAILING WALL
This is where our team carries out all of our detailing work. Each bay has dedicated power, air and a C-Tek charger to keep the battery maintained on your pride and joy while we work our magic. With dedicated bays measured out, each with their own trolley and tools, we can comfortably fit up to 6 cars (including the scissor lift and 2-post hoist) on the detailing wall ready to get the Avid treatment.
WHEEL EQUIPMENT
Scraping our wheels on curbs causes unsightly damage which can take away from the vehicles' appearance. We have a 2-post hoist to lift your vehicle off the ground and remove the wheels safely before placing them on our dedicated wheel repair equipment. Our wheel refinishing machine allows us to remove curb damage and scratches from your wheels before adding either a polish or colour and clear coat finish.
XPEL ROOM
Our Xpel Room houses our large 72” plotter which allows us to computer cut Xpel Paint Protection Film for some of automotive largest bonnets. The plotter is feed information from Xpel’s very own cloud based software, DAP, which we use to ensure correct fitting kits for your vehicle. A large weeding table completes the space, fitted with underneath storage, to allow for a clean and controlled workspace to cut out all Xpel patterns.
HANDOVER BAY
The final place a vehicle goes before leaving our building. A thorough check over is carried out after any work has been completed, in order for us to guarantee a quality standard, and the Handover Bay is the perfect space for us to do this in. A "Paint Protected by Avid" sticker, placed on the inside of the windscreen, is the final touch added before the vehicle heads out the door.
